Don't trust the title, I am 35, happily married and living in Sydney. As many 'spoiled desi brats' of my generation, I can barely cook and have no interest in learning it now.

My wife is visiting our parents in India and I need to provision for my food for the next 3 weeks. Friends have been really kind and I'll definitely lean on them for a few days but still have to find a good tiffin service for majority of the days.

I would ideally like to get a desi tiffin (home cooked, warm and fresh) on a daily basis. But as I suspected before and finding out now that the challenge of finding a good tiffin service is a big one.

Since I started DesiTiffins, I have an offline list of (probable) 300 tiffin services that I scoured through the deep reaches of the Internet. Gathering the list was a challenge in itself, but identifying the relevant ones is the next big issue. I have messaged around 10 of these services near my location and have yet not found 'the one'. Some of them have stopped the service, some numbers are not working and others are yet to respond.

On Saturday, I came across a frozen Indian food service. They had a reasonable offering and I placed the order online and waited for them to provide update. I called them in the evening and found out they are a weekly service based in Brisbane and will dispatch my order on Monday which I'll receive on Thursday. Well, that was a hard bummer!!! (I have still kept my order to experience their food and will definitely use them again if the food is good).
